Two feared dead, others injured as residents clash with police in Kwawu Bepong

Two individuals are feared dead and a few others harmed after angry youth conflicted with police at Kwawu Bepong in the Eastern region.

The youth were reportedly calling for Kwesi Tenkorang's release, who is believed to have raped and killed a young woman and her sister in the town.

The heinous crime was committed by the suspect, who then fled the scene.

He was apprehended at his hideout after residents carried out a search. Others advised sending the suspect to the chief's palace, despite their desire to lynch him.

The head of Kwawu Bepong was keeping the suspect in his castle anticipating police appearance when the furious youth raged the royal residence.

The boss wouldn't deliver the suspect and they vandalized property running into a great many Ghana cedis at the royal residence.

The youth reportedly attacked the police when they arrived at the scene, prompting them to fire warning shots.

According to Akwasi Dwamena of Adom News, the bullet killed two people on the spot and injured a number of others.

He said the police figured out how to whisk the suspect away from the scene which infuriated the adolescent.

Kwasi Dwamena made the observation that "they vandalized police vehicles and set three police motorbikes ablaze."

He said there is pressure in the town and greater part of the adolescent have escaped because of a paranoid fear of response assaults.

In the mean time, north of 30 suspects have been captured by the police.
