According to reports, the suspect, who was apprehended on January 15, had created a Facebook account and given it the name of the legislator.

Mr Emmanuel Klu, a Personal Assistant to the MP, when reached by the Ghana News Office (GNA), said five victims had written their witness statements.

He said additional casualties from Asato and Dodo-Amanfrom people group in the Kadjebi Area, would visit the Police headquarters on Tuesday, January 16, to give their assertions.

A public statement endorsed by Mr Musah Mohammed, the Deputy Communications Officer, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Akan Constituency, said the impersonation scheme involved the unapproved utilization of Mr Gomado's character via web-based entertainment, particularly on Facebook.

"Neighborhood specialists are asking anybody who might have succumbed to this false plan to approach and report their encounters to the Police."

The delivery reminded people in general to practice alert and check the realness of online associations, particularly while managing delicate issues on monetary exchanges.
