Speeding taxi driver knocks down police officer at Agona Swedru

Police have apprehended Kofi Donkor, a 27-year-old cabbie, for purportedly striking a police officer, Constable Ernest Opare, who was on the job at Agona Swedru in the Central region.



The episode happened at the Agona Swedru Chief Palace junction, where Constable Opare was coordinating traffic on the bustling double carriage street.

As indicated by police sources, the driver, working a vehicle with enrollment number GW 6086-22, was noticed driving out and about's shoulders.


The anxious and purportedly speeding driver supposedly ran over the cop.

Constable Ernest Opare was swiftly transported to the Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital for treatment of severe injuries to his hands and back.

Right now, he is going through treatment for his wounds.


As part of his cooperation with the ongoing investigation into the incident, the taxi driver is currently in police custody.
