Senegal was better than us – Cameroon head coach

Rigobert Song, the Head Coach of Cameroon, has taken care of the group's 3-1 loss against Senegal in the second round of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

During the post-game press conference, the Indomitable Lions coach stated, "When there is a defeat, we must bear responsibility, and therefore we must admit that Senegal was better than us."

Song referenced that his young players would require more insight to perform well in such huge events.

"Senegal was more grounded than us. On the field, their players were in their proper positions. They merited their triumph. As far as it matters for us, we have youthful players in the public group, and they are toward the start of their experience."

He said, "I think that the players did everything they could during the match, and small details made the difference in the match," when asked about the contest.

He elaborated, "We admit that the competitor was better than us."

In spite of drawing the principal game against Guinea and losing to Senegal in the subsequent match, Rigobert Song stays hopeful about Cameroon's possibilities in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Song is confident that he will lead the Indomitable Lions to the second round of the competition, even though they only have one point going into the third game.

"I'm generally hopeful. However long there is a last match, there are no estimations to make. The following match will be a last for us, and I realize that we would fit the bill for the subsequent round," he expressed.
