Otto Addo set to become new Black Stars coach after topping GFA interview

After receiving the highest scores in the job interview, the former Black Stars coach Otto Addo is reportedly being considered for re-appointment as the Black Stars' new head coach.

The Black Stars are as of now without a meaningful coach after the excusal of coach Chris Hughton after his poor display and exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The GFA has since selected a council to chase after a qualified coach to supplant Chris Hughton.

According to rumor, Otto Addo is currently in the lead for the position of Ghana's new coach, and negotiations between the two parties are currently in progress. The GFA received over 500 applications for the position. The 48-year-old's most memorable spell with the Black Stars was in mid 2022, when he succeeded coach Milovan Rajevac and later drove Ghana to edge Nigeria in two legs to fit the bill for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

At the Mundial in Qatar, he recorded just a success against South Korea and lost the leftover two against Portugal and Uruguay, after which he got back to his post at German monsters Borussia Dortmund after the opposition. In the mean time, some high-profile names, for example, German mentor Jurgen Kohler and previous Dark Stars mentor Goran as well as two neighborhood mentors and previous players of the Dark Stars, Maxwell Konadu and Michael.
