“Maurice Ampaw isn’t our spokesperson, we haven’t sent him” – NPP tells Manhyia

The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, showed up before the Asanteman Committee at the Manhyia Palace to answer an unpalatable remark purportedly passed by the Ashanti Regional Chairman Wontunmi during a vetting interaction.

General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Frimpong Kodua showed up before the Asanteman Committee along with the Public Coordinator, Henry Nana Boakye as well as a regional executives of the party to argue for the benefit of the Regional Chairman.

"Otumfuo, in the utmost humility, we are here to plead on behalf of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for you to forget any negative remarks that have been made to you. Justin Kodua Frimpong stated, "As the General Secretary of the NPP, I would not stand there and watch anyone bring the name of the king into disrepute."

This is because of a previous outburst by private attorney Maurice Ampaw that sought to disparage some Ashanti chiefs.

Legal counselor Ampaw claimed in the video that, "some chiefs in the Ashanti Region are corrupt.”"

Likewise, a report by Onuaonline.com, the occurrence happened during a sitting of the NPP parliamentary primaries screening board of trustees last week, Wontumi, without incitement, purportedly pronounced his aim to challenge the Asantehene, stating that, "I have constructed my own realm, I have my own police and military, and I will express my genuine thoughts to Otumfuo assuming that I differ on an issue with him."

Justin Kodua Frimpong communicated lament over the proclamation demonstrating none of the respectable men (Executive Wontunmi and Maurice Ampaw) talk in the interest of the NPP.

"All ways I express assuming there is a decision between the New Enthusiastic Party and the Asanteman realm, I will pick the Asanteman Realm," Justin Kodua Frimpong expressed to additional look for supplication.

Nonetheless, prominently missing was Bernard Antwi Boasiako. Mr Kodua let the bosses know that Wontumi was incapacitated "Nananom, we were unable to accompany Administrator Wontumi in light of the fact that he has not been well."

However, not all of the chiefs liked the excuse.

For example, one of Otumfuo's main etymologists, Nana Kwaku Owusu requested for a clinical report of Wontumi "on the off chance that you guarantee Wontumi is debilitated, where could his primary care physician's report be?" he questioned.

Mr. Frimpong Kodua argued for mercy as he couldn't present the specialist's report mentioned.
