I quit acting to become a caregiver in London – Rita Dominic


At the Women of Valour Conference in Accra in 2024, Nollywood entertainer Rita Dominic opened up about an extraordinary period in her life when she moved back from the spotlight to leave on an excursion of self-improvement and reflection.


Dominic uncovered that individual provokes drove her to migrate to London in the mid 2000s, bringing about a transitory break from her acting vocation. "In 2001/2002, I quit acting. I left the [movie] business and moved to London since it was an extremely dull period in my life," she shared. "I had conflicts with close friends who I considered family, and I wanted a break from acting to explore through that troublesome time."


During her time in London, Dominic ended up attracted to an alternate way - really focusing on grown-ups with extraordinary necessities. She accepted up a position as a parental figure in a consideration home, where she tracked down comfort and satisfaction in helping other people during their critical crossroads.


"While in London, I got by filling in as a parental figure in a consideration home for grown-ups with extraordinary requirements. It's something I've never shared freely," she conceded. "Albeit some might see it as a stage down from my acting vocation, I considered it to be a chance to track down euphoria and reason in focusing on others."


In spite of the huge shift from the fabulousness of Nollywood to the empathetic domain of providing care, Dominic's enthusiasm for acting stayed unflinching. In the long run, she found her direction back to the business where she at first acquired distinction.


Since her breakout job in "A Chance to Kill" in 1998, Dominic has set up a good foundation for herself as a darling symbol in Nollywood, featuring in various effective movies.

Besides, her process enlivened her to wander into film creation, where she keeps on making significant commitments to the business.
