‘I am okay’ – Wontumi assures after viral hospital-bed photo amid Asanteman controversy

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, more commonly referred to as Chairman Wontumi, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman, has addressed health concerns.

He was seen effectively taking part in the NPP Parliamentary Primaries in the Bantama Electorate, dissipating reports about his prosperity after a picture of him confined to bed in a clinic coursed via virtual entertainment.

Chairman Wontumi was noticed moving around and giving meetings during the races, exhibiting that he is healthy. He confidently responded, "I am okay," when asked about his well-being by the media.

Chairman Wontumi was summoned by the Manhyia Palace to meet with the Kumasi Traditional Council after making contentious remarks about the Asantehene.

Be that as it may, he neglected to go to the gathering, refering to sickness. Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP's General Secretary, asked the Traditional Council for an extension on Wontumi's behalf because of his health. The Traditional Council denied the extension despite their request, claiming that Wontumi had not provided a medical report to back up his claim.

It is now anticipated that Chairman Wontumi will meet with the Traditional Council on January 29, 2024.
