Former Sports Minister died of a heart attack – Family reveals

Family spokesperson for the late former Sports Minister, Dr Ahmed Mustapha, has revealed insight into the conditions prompting his troublesome end. As indicated by Dr Abdulai Alhassan, Dr Ahmed Mustapha made a trip to India for a standard clinical examination yet was startlingly informed to go through surgery subsequent after complaining of lower back pain.



In an interview with GhanaWeb during a visit by certain members from the minority caucus, Dr Alhassan revealed, "Dr Mustapha Ahmed chose to venture out to India for a clinical review, and he encountered back pain.

He consulted his doctor, which prompted the proposal for surgery. The activity was fruitful; However, he unfortunately had a relapse ten minutes later, which led to a heart attack. We least expected this to happen, so the news surprised us.


Dr. Ahmed Mustapha, who died at 63 years old, had a distinguished career in public service. He filled in as Ghana's Sports Minister in 2015, standing firm on the footing for a very long time in the midst of discussions encompassing the spending plan for the Africa Cup of Nations.


Before his residency as Sports Minister, Dr. Ahmed Mustapha addressed the Ayawaso East Voting demographic as an Individual from Parliament from 2001 to 2013 under the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to additional information from The Herald, Dr. Ahmed Mustapha was a dentist who worked at the 37 Military Hospital and was a retired military officer. Moreover, he laid out and worked a dental center in Maamobi, Accra.
