Former headmaster in custody over ¢72,759 unearned salary

Former head administrator of Ahamansu L. A. Erishad Primary School in the Oti Region, Patrick Wisdom Krampah, was arrested last Monday by the Jasikan Police and set in custody for purportedly rounding GH¢72,759.32 up unmerited salaries.

The chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), Dr James Klutse Avedzi, last Friday, requested the Kadjebi Area Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) to connect with the police to arrest Krampah for the monetary inappropriateness against the state.

According to a source close to the Jasikan Police, Krampah was assisting the police in their investigations, according to a source who confirmed the suspect's arrest to the Daily Graphic.

The PAC found that Krampah left his post as headteacher on February 1, 2018, for the Young Work Office (YEA) as a task right hand.

Reviewer General's Report

This came from the 2022 Examiner General's Report on the Record of Ghana - Services, Divisions, and Different Organizations for the year finished December 31, 2020 - welcomed before the advisory group on January 31, 2024.

The report uncovered that Krampah got unmerited compensations between February 2018 and June 2020.

In the mean time, the Auditor-General has suggested that the Area Head of Schooling recuperate the sum from Krampah, with premium at the overarching bank rate, and pay it into the Reviewer General's Recuperation Record with the Bank of Ghana.

In default, the sum ought to be recuperated from the locale chief and validators.

Dr Avedzi clarified that Krampah's lead negated the Public Monetary Administration Guideline.
