Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton Fired

Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has been relieved of his duties.

This was declared in a short statement gave by the Ghana Football Association late Tuesday evening.


"The Ghana Football Association wishes to declare that Chris Hughton has been relieved of his obligations as head coach of the Senior National team with immediate effect," GFA included the statement.

About Hughton's appointment Hughton was chosen to replace Otto Addo, whose contract with the men's senior national team ended after the 2022 World Cup. He was appointed in February 2023.



He was entrusted with regulating the rest of Ghana's qualifiers for AFCON 2023, taking the group to the competition in Ivory Coast, as well as administering the beginning of the Stars' 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
