Arrest Kingsley, or we will all pay EC officials in Dec – Hopeson on alleged bribery at Ejisu primaries

Member of Alan Kyerematen’s Movement for Change (M4C), Hopeson Adorye, has required the immediate arrest and prosecution of Kingsley Nyarko, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Kwadaso.

Adorye's interest comes following claims of pay off during the as of late finished up Ejisu by-political race, started by a viral video showing Nyarko giving a white envelope to Electing Commission (EC) authorities at a surveying station in Fumesua.

Denouncing the activities caught in the video, Adorye named them as criminal, accentuating that such way of behaving sabotages the uprightness of the discretionary cycle and can't go on without serious consequences. Talking in a meeting with Citi News on April 30, 2024, Adorye contended that Nyarko's activities abused electing regulations and subsequently justified lawful activity.

In addition, he argued that Nyarko's actions were criminal because the EC was in charge of providing lunch for its employees, and he requested the arrest and prosecution of Nyarko. "I say they need to capture him and arraign him. He has overstepped the law; it is a wrongdoing. At the polling place, you are not required to do that, but because he is an NPP MP, they are ignoring him. We are all going to do the same thing at the polling place in December if they don't arrest him, "he stated.

The Electing Commission (EC) has recognized the episode at the Fumesua Pentecost Church surveying station, where the MP was seen putting an envelope on the table involved by the directing official and the voting form guarantor.

In an explanation delivered on April 30, 2024, and endorsed by Samuel Tettey, the Delegate Director of Tasks, the EC reported the suspension of the two impermanent staff forthcoming an examination concerning the matter. Moreover, the EC expressed that it had alluded the occurrence to the police for a criminal examination.
