Almost all the trees planted in 2023 have been destroyed by stray cattle – Ashanti Regional Minister

Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah has raised worries about the continuous annihilation of trees planted along roads and different regions in parts of the region by homeless animals.

"We have attempted to regreen Kumasi to bring back the garden city that we all knew, sadly, we are upset by cows. The majority of the trees we planted in 2023 have vanished. The Ashanti Regional Security Council has issued a warning and stated that it will begin taking care of stray cattle whose owners have left them unattended.

In different parts of the Ashanti Region, lost animals are many times left to wander unreservedly, making harm both public and confidential properties. Furthermore, these creatures at times add to vehicular traffic, making a public nuisance.

Chairing the Security Council, Ashanti Regional Minister Simon Osei-Mensah underscored that move will be initiated against the proprietors of these homeless animals.

"We are going to take severe action against the cattle owners this time." We will draw in individuals who are great at getting lost cattle, we will pay them inside that period, and they will guarantee that the trees are not annihilated by dairy cattle."
